Octopus Paul The 8 legs Astrolger....!

 He has been more famous than some of the biggest soccer stars in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Octopus Paul has become a phenomenon with his 'bang-on' predictions. But how much do you know about him?

Octopus Paul is two years old. He is old as Octopus' go. The largest octopus' live longest - up to 3 years.

 

Paul lives at the Sea Life Aquarium in the western German city of Oberhausen.Paul is now the biggest celebrity from Oberhausen and is the only one listed under Noted People from Oberhausen on Wikipedia.

The Oracle Octopus is not German by birth. He is English, having been born in Weymouth in England. Many from England had hope that sheer loyalty to his place of birth would make him predict an England win in their knock-out match against Germany. He did not.
 

Paul was a normal octopus when in England. He made no predictions while at the Weymouth Sea Life Park.

  

Paul seems to have gotten better with age. His prediction record at this year's FIFA World Cup is 100% accurate. During the 2008 European Cup he had correctly predicted the outcome of 80% of Germany's games. He got the finals wrong too, predicting a Germany win – Spain won.

  

Till Friday Paul made predictions only about Germany games. This was the first time he predicted a game which would not feature Germany – the World Cup final between Spain and the Netherlands that the Octopus predicts Spain will win.

Paul has been a a popular figure on social networking sites as well including Twitter where he has been trending topic of late.

Paul has a public figure page on facebook, with 65,666 fans. Everyone wants to cash in on the Paul mania – facebook has an app called Lucky Octopus offering predictions.


He's had death threats, especially from Argentina, where a chef is reported to have described in detail on a facebook post of how he would murder and cook Paul. Even from angry Germans who were once fans.
