Michael, along with 15,000 invited guests attend the New York Metropolitan Museum of National History to receive awards from CBS and The Guinness Book Of World Records. 'Thriller' is the highest selling album of all time with 60 million copies sold worldwide. The first edition of the 1984 Paperback version of The Guinness Book Of World Records is presented to Jackson by Norris McWhirter in February of that year.

With Star No. 1,793 in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre, Michael becomes the first celebrity to have two different stars dedicated to him, having received one as a member of The Jacksons in the 70's and 1980s on November 20.
